As each individual child is special and unique, so are their wishes. Since 1984, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan has granted heartfelt wishes to 5,000 children.

Celebrating our 5,000th Wish in Michigan!

Construction is now complete on Alan’s “home away from home” … his new custom-built, backyard tree fort! It’s the perfect wish for this energetic, fun-loving kid, who is exploring and hanging out with his siblings in his new fortress of joy.

Multi-levels and lots of space to sprawl were in Alan’s design and he creatively provided a picturesque rendition of his dream! With help from Forever Young Treehouses, Inc. and Make-A-Wish supporters, the Foundation brought his dream to life and provided a relaxing refuge for Alan, who battles JMML (a form of Leukemia). Alan, who loves the outdoors, snow boarding, rock climbing, baseball and skateboarding, is right at home in his new digs.

Making Wishes Come True

Whether it's a wish for a backyard tree fort, or a wish for a soft, cuddly puppy or a state-of-the-art computer, or even a meeting with a world famous mouse and his goofy friends, the sky's the limit and our wish kids' imaginations are their guide. The Foundation has fulfilled wishes for 5,000 children since its inception in 1984 and anticipates granting nearly 400 wishes for special kids, like Alan, within the next year.
