Wish Granting Volunteer Teams

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan serves children across the entire state and needs wish-granting volunteers to help make wishes come true! Wish-granting volunteers work in teams of two to meet with wish kids and their families and conduct the Wish Ceremony that helps to determine the child’s wish. Wish-granting volunteers may also have some involvement with each wish, depending on what the child wishes for. Our staff makes the arrangements, and our volunteers add the special touches that make each wish magical.

Volunteer Requirements:
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Attend a one-day wish-granting training (see upcoming training schedule)
• Complete a volunteer application including background and reference check

In cooperation with the Wish Managers, wish granters may be asked to solicit donations from businesses or individuals in the process of granting wishes, if necessary. Generally, this means asking for in-kind donations to enhance the child’s wish. For more information, Jen Boan at 800.622.9474 ext.118 or e-mail her at jboan@wishmich.org

Alan's wish for a new tree fort is unique for many reasons, and we've been delighted to see the fort come to life from Alan's hand-drawn art!

Alan, from Brighton, and his wish mark a special milestone for the Foundation -- the granting of our 5,000th wish.
