2008 One Penny at a Time Gala

Hundreds of West Michigan supporters joined the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan for a magical evening in celebration of its Make-A-Wish, One Penny at a Time Gala presented by LaSalle Bank on March 22 at DeVos Place.   The theme for this year’s event focused on the fact that every single penny truly does count and we can collectively gather together to make a difference, one penny at a time. The Foundation is pleased to announce that thanks to the generous support of sponsors, volunteers and attendees who rallied around our cause we were able to raise $230,000!

This concept was translated beautifully as a one-of-a-kind Wishing Pond, created by Windscapes, provided Gala guests with an opportunity to toss a ceremonial penny into the pond with each donation made to the Foundation that evening.  The magical evening was topped off by a visit from wish mini-horse Paprika and wish kid Spencer driving his brand new John Deere Gator on stage!
