One Child’s Wish: Lily Gets a Playhouse

With colored pencils and a sketch pad in hand, Lily showed Wayne Visbeen, President of Visbeen Architects, what she envisioned and together, Lily and Wayne created a spectacular playhouse with all the special touches Lily hoped for and the sturdy, stoic and luxury design Wayne is accustomed to creating.

The two-story playhouse, complete with a loft and electricity, is Lily’s escape. The inside is warm and welcoming for Lily and her friends. It even has a bright yellow slide for a playful exit from her new retreat.

And Lily loves it! “My wish experience was fabulous. It was great working with the architect, Make-A-Wish and all the builders. My house is beautiful. I love having my own place to hang out." It’s a place she calls her own and a place for her to play, away from doctors and treatments that have been a constant in her life since she was diagnosed in 2006 with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer.
